The taskforce mandated to determine the details of the LSE Students’ Union’s (LSESU) twinning with the students union of Al-Najah University in Palestine met last Friday to discuss the details of the arrangement.



LSESU new RAG Committee Elected

The Executive and General Committees of LSE Raising and Giving (RAG) were elected last week. After the motion was passed three weeks ago at the LSE Students’ Union (LSESU) Union General Meeting (UGM) to make RAG a separate constituent body, elections for 14 positions took place.

F&S under fire for unequal Societies budgets

The Finance and Services Committee (F&S) has come under criticism over this year's society budgets with many societies complaining about large budget cuts. F&S member and LSE Students' Union (LSESU) Societies Officer, Carys Morgan, said, "This year, Libby [Meyer, LSESU Treasurer] and the whole of the F&S committee were keen to provide consistency over the kind of activities that the Students' Union funded."



Disability Awareness Week

The LSE Students’ Union (LSESU) Disabilities Awareness Week took place last week with a variety of associated events. The week was in collaboration with the LSESU Debate Society and featured, among other events, a performance from a renowned stand-up comedian.



RAG motion passed at UGM

A motion to make the LSE Students’ Union (LSESU) Raising and Giving (RAG) Society a separate constituent body of the LSESU was passed at the Union General Meeting (UGM) last Thursday, having been on the order paper for nearly a month. RAG will now be a separate arm of the LSESU, dedicated to raising money for charity.



C&S Committee no confidenced

After six weeks of in-fighting, the Constitution and Steering Committee (C&S) was no confidenced for the fourth time in three years at last week’s Union General Meeting (UGM). The committee, which ensures that the LSE Students’ Union (LSESU) adheres to its constitution, had three separate Chairs and three resignations during the course of the first six weeks of term.



UGM fails to debate order paper motions

For the second week running, the Union General Meeting (UGM) failed to debate any order paper motions.
